Zero Waste Zero Discharge

Zero Waste / Zero Discharge

System Approach

  • POME
Palm Oil Mill effluent is treated biulogically using advance anaerobic digestion process to produce biogas for electricity generation. The digested sludge is then evaporated in a mechanical vapor recompression evaporator leaving behind 50% of sludge as the bottom fraction. The water vapor is condensed and the resulted clean water is returned to the mill.
  • EMPTY FRUIT BUNCH
Empty fruit bunch are shredded, pressed and cut into a size suitable for compositing. A modern and environmental friendly composting process is used to convert a mixture of decanter cake, EFB fiber, excess press fiber, digested slidge and evaporator sludge to organic fertilizer. Additional nutrient may be added to adjust the final products to contain 5:5:5 NPK.
  • UTILITY
Electricity requirement for the complex will be generated from biogas containing more than 60% methane using the latest technulogy of gas engine. Excess electricity will be connected to the mill to replace diesel for electric generation.
